Graphic Novel Outline

Title~ Prison Town
Characters~ Dylan, Indigo, and Maldia
Setting~ A small town just outside of Jackson, Wyoming called Maydanor(May-DA-nor).
Summary~ A cursed love triangle that goes a little deeper then just love; but a connection that could never be broken but Maldia tries with every spells she's got. From Sorcerers to misfits there will be no turning back once you've entered Maydanor. You want to leave? At what price are you willing to pay?
Inspiration~
Amazon.com: Batman (2011-2016) Vol. 1: The Court of Owls (Batman ... Love You Forever: Robert Munsch, Sheila McGraw: 0000920668373 ... Amazon.com: Death Note - Vol. 1: Various, Various: Movies & TV These are my three graphic novels that inspired me; Batman: Court of owls Vol. 1, Love You Forever, and Death Note Vol. 1... All very different... All very good. I have taken ideas from all of them to make up what I will be writing! Excited to see it yet?

Art?~ I am not sure on my art ideas just yet but I'm thinking they will be simple but detailed if that makes any sense to you guys hahaha! I guess you could give Pokemon as a good animation example of what I am thinking of. its not too basic and it's not too complex. I am mainly looking at the Pokemon themselves when I say that too.
Brain scans reveal a 'pokémon region' in adults who played as kids ...
Theme~ My them you could say is a sci-fi/action/romance because I put sci-fi in almost all my stories and will put them in this one too, I also really enjoy action and romance together because it's not your typical 'Disney Princess' story but has a similar concept not Mr. & Mrs. Smith but somewhere in the middle of the two.

THESE COMIC BOOKS I SWEAR!

Amazon.com: Superman Vol. 1: Son Of Superman (Rebirth ...
The book I will be reviewing today is called Superman: Vol. 1 Son of Superman.

In a short summary and I mean very very short summary of the book; superman and Luis have a son named Jon. He is quiet literally, the son of Superman. Anyways he tries to figure out his powers and then something happens to his cat and he's all sad and thinks he will never use his powers again. AND THEN something happens and Superman needs to go meet with the Justice League. What he doesn't know is that Jon followed him, this evil villain guy tries to kill Superman then Luis somehow gets involved and at this point the Justice League is for some reason NO WHERE to be found. Then Jon gets upset cause his dad is about to die and tries to save the day but almost gets killed himself and then they work together and kill the bad guy and live happily looking for a way to practice his powers safely. Now that my friend is the 178 page comic SHORT summary. For all of you who love this book as much as I do I know I left some minor points out but hey NO spoilers here!

This is a graphic novel because of the ridiculously amazing illustrator Patrick Gleason and the amazing authors Patrick Gleason and Peter J. Thomasi. As we have said in other posts a graphic novel is a novel in which has illustrations in it so you can follow along by reading AND seeing the action. It's almost like a visual movie with subtitles. This graphic novel is very visually detailed; engages the reader when following the text as well. There are many text boxes on almost every page describing the setting while showing it too to give you both a mental and physical visual. The layout is not exactly standard meaning its not in strips but it not not in strips? Here let me show you a standard page from the book.
Superman Talks To His Son About God – Comicnewbies As you can see there ARE in fact strips but there is also just a page of art. The colors in this book are so bold and really capture the moment.I LOVE IT AHHHHH!

One thing I could steal from this book is probably the description texts about the setting and why things are the way they are; background and everything because in case I have a visual that doesn't exactly describe everything I will always have those to help my reader still keep engaged! If it wasn't already obvious I recommend this book 10/10! I also recommend one called Batman: Vol. 1 Court of Owls!! In my opinion the visuals are out of this world and the whole book will leave you in awe!!! I promise you won't regret it, this one is also one of my favorites! 100/10 for me!!!

Graphic Novel Defined in One Sitting

A graphic novel is book with original visuals in bedded in a variety of different genres. In simplified terms; a graphic novel is a novel in comic-strip format. I currently only own eight Comic books all in which are either DC or Marvel comic books, in which are the most popular style of graphic novel to the teenage crowd. My favorite at the moment is Batman: Death in the family; I personally don't known it but I have read it and studied the phenomenal visuals throughout  the novel. Although they are called novels they tend to be very quick and short reads, but they will have multiple series to make up for it, in which they are called volumes instead to sort of connected them in a chapter sense. Most graphic novels have original artwork by real artists and not just art created electronically. For instance as children's books are graphic novels Dr Seuss books possessed the original art be Theodore Seuss Geisel himself. Graphic novels have a more personal appearance than other novels because it is the art of someone just like us. Sure it's copied and digitized onto paper but the work and practice of the art will always be there. That's part of the reason why graphic novels are so popular and appealing to many people. I promise you that AT LEAST once in your life you have enjoyed a good ole graphic novel.
